Library Page

Do you like coming to the library? Maybe you would enjoy working here! The Amherst Town Library is seeking applicants for part-time Library Page positions.

Description: Pages support the daily operations of the library by organizing materials, assisting with routine tasks, and preparing for programs and events. These are year-round positions that require availability to work both evening and weekend hours. Occasional daytime hours may be offered when school is not in session.

Pages may work:
1-2 weekday shifts a week (excluding Fridays) from 5:30pm - 8:30pm
2-3 weekend shifts a month (Saturdays from 9:15am-3:15pm & Sundays from 1pm-5pm)

Pages cooperate with each other to build a monthly schedule and then ensure that their shifts are covered when others are unable to work due to illness, academic obligations, family emergencies, or planned travel.  This may include occasional shift trades or extra hours.

Please see the full job description for a list of duties and qualifications here.

Compensation:  Starting wage is $14.61 per hour.

Qualifications: Applicants must be high school students 16 years of age or older. Reliable transportation to and from the library is a must to ensure that Pages arrive on time for work and are picked up or can leave at the end of their shift.

How to Apply: To apply, please complete our online application form. Include a short paragraph explaining why you are interested in becoming a Page at the library and provide two letters of recommendation from people that would recommend you for employment. Ensure that the person’s address, email and/or phone number is included. Letters of recommendation can also be emailed to amoore@amherstlibrary.org.

Review of applications will begin immediately. Deadline for applications and all application materials is June 20, 2025. Direct any questions or letters of recommendation to Alexa Moore, Circulation & Reader Services Librarian.
