The Library Board of Trustees is a seven-member board empowered under New Hampshire law (RSA) to adopt policies, prepare the annual budget, and hire the staff responsible for the library's day-to-day operations. Trustees are elected to three-year terms and are members of the New Hampshire Library Trustees Association. They regularly attend conferences and workshops to stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and issues affecting libraries. The Trustees of the Amherst Town Library are committed to ensuring that the library remains innovative, fiscally responsible, and responsive to the evolving needs of the community. Through their leadership and stewardship, they help strengthen the library's contribution to the overall quality of life in Amherst.
The Trustees typically meet at the library on the third Monday of the month. Check the online calendar for exact meeting times.
